The discussion about friendship with opposite sex while married has been a hot topic. Do you trust your man enough to allow him have friends of the opposite sex? Do you think it is okay for your woman to have friends of the opposite sex? Several views have been dropped as to whether this is morally okay or if it would possess threat to the marriage. Recently, a married husband said,
“Before I got married, I explained to my wife that I have a lot female friends but you can trust that nothing would happen. Initially, she was jealous but she was soon to adapt because she trusts me and she has male friends but I do not complain. So we have a mutual understanding”
However, in the real sense, problems begin to arise when a spouse begins to pay more attention to the friend. And in most cases, people choose those they are really comfortable with as friends and so when the partner begins to complain, it is possible that the spouse feels that way.
Although it works for him, it does not guarantee that it would work for every other person. A woman said “I already told my husband that I would not allow such” With these comments, we come to a conclusion that it depends on their ability to communicate.
YOUR BEST FRIEND SHOULD BE, AND ALWAYS YOUR PARTNER.
