Marriage is a beautiful thing. It comes with a lot of expectations and responsibilities. How to dress as a married person is a goal these days as if marriage isn’t  enough challenge already. The general view is that once you are married, you should have a particular look.

Does that mean there is truly a dress code? If so what is the dress code?

Society expects that a married woman is modest, thereby  covering up like a nun if you like… This could probably  be  so because of the fact that most women are more voluptuous than others while most women just like to show off a certain part of their body, just to get noticed. We all have that special body part which we believe God took his time to create. For some people it’s the chest area ….shout out to all you busty ladies and for others it could be just all about legs, it differs in most women.

As a married lady it is only right that you cover up and leave a little to our imagination. We know you are curvaceous and beautiful, make out time to shop the right lingerie and clothes too. This is not just because of religion or society; but because they say how you dress is how you are addressed. Most importantly, you must know what to wear to different locations or events. This is expected of all women, married or not. You can’t be dressed in your beautiful bejeweled evening gown to your child’s school PTA (Parents, Teachers Association) meeting.  Leave that dress for your husband’s work promotion dinner or even his birthday . You can’t also wear your favorite skirt suit to a night out with the girls. Always take priority to picking out the right outfit to suit any event. My darlyns, the most important thing is to be sure that you are comfortable in what you are wearing. And my darlyn, if  global warming has caused extreme weather changes on mother earth, don’t wear a turtleneck shirt to a cocktail party…. You will roast!

Many married women feel they have a limited scope with respect to style and fashion after marriage. Fashion is all about personality, these days you find women dressed as though they are still single….how do I mean? They still find time to look as good as they used to be or even better before they stepped to the altar.  For some women fashion it is a means of self- expression and they feel that changing how they look would suppress their personality.  But, Hey! If fascinators, big hair, big sleeves, peplums or a long train behind your dress is your thing, wear it girl!

Most men actually request that their wives dress a certain way too. He may just be all about that sass. My darlyns, As a wife you must always bring that spark into your relationship…..Never forget that!  Don’t be a single lady with a kim kardashian persona only to get married and become a grumpy old grandma. You may have a set of twins and a toddler to care for. It’s not going to be easy but you must find time to take care of yourself and look your best against all odds. According to research, men are attracted to what they see; you have to remind him every time why he married you. Do it for as long as your bones can carry you…. “Boring” is not an option in marriage.  Don’t wear outfits that are too revealing; I bet you don’t want to pass a wrong signal to a random guy. If your man is with you and suggests you dress in a certain style; wear it as long as you are comfortable in it too. If you are not confident and comfortable in his preferred outfit, find a subtle way to make him understand. You can be married and still be a trendsetter of your own. Most women will disagree; they believe that being trendy sends a provocative message to men other than their husbands. They strongly believe that being modest is part of respecting boundaries in marriage. On a general note to all women, less is more.

My darlyns, ensure to look your best no matter what personality you are. Marriage is a journey and you must look fabulous every step of the way because whether you like it or know it your kids are watching and learning!

  1. Well basically, we are not meant to judge but the truth is that you’re meant to dress the way you want to be addressed.

  2. For me the old saying stands, you are addressed the way you are dressed. No one sees the inside without coming closer. 07036987768

  3. Your dress sense is a perception of who you really are. Most people opinion ,which is false in most cases.

  4. Really! In this 21st century will someone be dressed anyhow! That husbands can be snatched by dressing well self.

  5. Well there’s a generic saying that dress the same way you will be addressed, but lemme dispute this claims by saying that looks can be very deceptive.
99% of how we relate with ourselves is via perception, we don’t know anything about ourselves until we rub off shoulders
I have met several women in my life in cause of my career, and my perception has severally failed me
So looks has absolutely has nothing to do with a woman’s character…. But all I can say is, in as much as we are trying to be ourselves let there be decorum and modesty ….kpakam

  6. Dress sense sometimes doesn’t judge your character to be good or bad in marriage. But the most important thing is dress for who and what you want to attract.

  7. Lol…. Sincerely, I think we should be at a point where we all understand that certain things do not make someone better and certain things do not determine the characteristics of a person. I think you should dress anyhow you want as long as you’re comfortable.

  8. Well, there
isn’t a dress code for married ladies in as much as they are decent and comfortable in their outfit
